The Familiar Sights and Sounds

We have officially arrived and taken up residence at the Moscow Hotel in Kaliningrad. As our plane was landing in Kaliningrad, I (Amanda) couldn’t help feel emotional and joyful that this is the moment that we have been waiting for since we left. Being in Russia is hard…it just took us two trips to find “still” water (not sparkling), but yet, it is wonderful to feel that Kaliningrad is a little familiar now. It was so nice to see Sasha our driver and get settled in this evening. It is 10:30 p.m. at night and it is still VERY light out…like 7;00 or 7:30 p.m. at home. Also, the Euro Cup is happening in Poland and the Ukraine (I think that is the location) so everywhere we turn the TVs are tuned into soccer. Our brother-in-law would love it!

Our interpretor was not with us this evening, so with a little English from our Agency Rep, Natasha, we were able to confirm that we will get to see both of our girls tomorrow! Yeah! We can’t wait! Good night!
